Product Introduction
GFRP stands for Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics, also known as fiberglass. GFRP mesh panels are grid-like sheets woven from warp and weft strands of glass-fiber-reinforced composite material.
Ingredient Composition
It is primarily composed of glass fibers and a resin matrix. The glass fibers serve as the reinforcing phase, exhibiting high strength and a high elastic modulus, thereby providing the principal mechanical support for the material; their fine diameter ensures the material’s flexibility. The resin matrix mainly functions to bond the fibers and to transmit loads; common resins include epoxy resin and polyester resin, which enable the glass fibers to be tightly bonded together to form a monolithic structure.
Performance Features
1. Mechanical Properties: GFRP exhibits high strength and modulus, with excellent tensile strength that enables it to withstand substantial tensile loads without fracturing, making it suitable for applications requiring high structural strength. Moreover, its high specific strength (the ratio of material strength to density) means that, under the same strength requirements, GFRP components can be significantly lighter.
2. Corrosion Resistance: Exhibits excellent resistance to a wide range of chemical substances, effectively withstanding the corrosive effects of acids, bases, salts, and other chemical media. For example, when used in corrosive environments such as chemical pipelines or prolonged immersion in seawater, it can significantly extend the service life of equipment and infrastructure.
3. Insulating properties: It is an excellent electrical insulating material with high resistivity, effectively preventing the conduction of electric current, and can be used for isolation and enclosure in high-voltage substations.
4. Thermal Properties: It exhibits a low coefficient of thermal expansion, resulting in excellent dimensional stability under temperature variations; however, its high-temperature resistance is limited. The specific heat-resistant temperature range depends on the resin matrix used, typically falling within the 300°C range.
Application Fields
① Safety isolation and protection applications in highways, railways, airports, water conservancy, power generation, aquaculture, and crop cultivation, among others;
② Geotechnical applications such as subgrade geogrids, slope protection geogrids, and seawall reinforcement.
③ Building foundation layers, floor slabs, prefabricated components, underground utility tunnel components, and reinforcement of existing buildings, among others.
